The Columbian [2] and the Oregonian [3] are reporting that David Wu has followed through on his promise to resign upon the resolution of the debt crisis.
Wu notified Gov. Kitzhaber of his resignation effective today, August 3, 2011 at one minute before midnight. This will allow Gov. Kitzhaber to start the timeline for a special election to replace Wu.
