Candidate filing: GOP offers two new challenges to incumbents

Two strong Republican contenders filed today, Jeff Duyck and Mick Macalmond. Jeff Duyck filed to run against Rep. Chuck Riley (Hillsboro area). Jeff is from the Duyck & Van Duyck family which represent some of the largest farmers and landowners in Washington County. The Duyck family name is very well know on the Westside, and provide a formidable challenge to Riley who sits on a seat with evenly mixed party registration. Jeff is related to Andy Duyck who serves as Washington County Commissioner.

Another contender boasted by Republicans is Mick Macalmond who is running against incumbent Rep. Tobias Read in Beaverton. Macalmond is a Marine, financial advisor and former vice president of bank.
