Happy Birthday Catalyst! Three years of success!

We are a few months into our third birthday year and we continue to witness great success. Last week we hit 27,901 hits/13,398 page views/2,826 sessions in a single day. Wow!

Catalyst has been fortunate to break news before it happens! As of recent, we were the first to announce three statewide candidates before they announced; Allen Alley (R) for State Treasurer, Sen. Brad Avakian (D) and Sen. Rick Metsger (D) for secretary of State, and confirmed Kevin Mannix’s run for Congress weeks before he announced).

We are always looking for new writers (especially if you live in rural or coastal Oregon). Our goal is to provide a professional, pro-active, positive news outlet for fiscal taxpayer conservatism and free enterprise news. We criticize and compliment political action no matter whether it comes from Republicans, Democrats, or independents.

If interested please send an email to [email protected].

OregonCatalyst is no one person, but rather a team of writers working together. You may have noticed our regulars; Taxpayer Association of Oregon, Cascade Policy Institute, Jason Williams, Steve Buckstein, Bina Patel, Larry Huss, Tim Lyman, Kurt Weber, Gienie Assink, Kathryn Hickok Jerry Dawson, Matt Wingard, Dylan Amo and other regular contributors such as Lars Larson, Oregonians In Action and Dave Lister from the daring Brainstorm Magazine.

If you love what we do, then please put a link to us or a blog roll on your website. It cannot be underestimated how important it is to link to our site. Web-linking helps our Google love rating.

Believe it nor not, the original role model for Catalyst was to be a mix of the Wall Street Journal (for its principles and news) and Rush Limbuagh (so we can laugh). We did good. Sometimes you just have to stand back and look at all the people pulling together to make this site work and just be amazed at how blessed I am to be a part of it. Thank you everyone.
