Legislative Counsel sides with Bruce Starr

by NW Spotlight

The Oregon Legislative Counsel has written that they agree with Sen. Bruce Starr that the election for State Labor Commissioner needs to be held in May 2012, not in November 2012. Their finding is another strike against Secretary of State Kate Brown.

“We believe that current law applicable to the nomination or election of nonpartisan candidates requires the office of Commissioner to be placed on the ballot for the nominating election to be held on the date of the primary election in May 2012.”
