Former DA to join Anti-Crime Alliance, fight in Legislature

The Oregon Anti-Crime Alliance will have a new feather in its cap come January 1: Lane County District Attorney, Doug Harcleroad, who retires from office on December 31, will be lobbying for the Oregon Anti-Crime Alliance throughout the 2009 legislative session.

Harcleroad has been an attorney for 34 years and has been Lane County’s District Attorney for the last 20 years. He is highly respected in all political camps and will devote his energy and intellect on behalf of crime fighting. “We are delighted to have Doug join us in the effort to improve public safety in Oregon,” said Kevin Mannix, President of the Oregon Anti-Crime Alliance. “There will be major legislation involving implementation of Measure 57, and we will need Mr. Harcleroad’s help to make sure this is done right,” added Mannix.

The Oregon Anti-Crime Alliance takes a holistic approach to crime. It advocates reforms to improve prevention, early intervention, investigation, prosecution, accountability, and rehabilitation.
