The Oregonian stops daily delivery in Eugene

The Willamette Week reports that The Oregonian has stopped daily delivery in Eugene. Thsi si one of many cost saving measures introduced recently — including occassionaly merging the Metro section in the main page and raising the street price to 75 cents.

This has been a tough year for them, but I am sure they will survive.

Next step is three day a week delivery in the metro area.
    ThenSunday only.
    Then web only for pay.
    Then web only for free.
    Then slowly downhill from there…
