State Circuit Court insiders are reporting that starting March 13, 2009 at least the Circuit Courts for the state will be closed on Fridays until further notice. Calls to the Multnomah County and Marion County courthouses have confirmed this news. The extent of the closures, including the effect on requests for emergency relief, court filings and other essential state court services is unknown. Chief Justice Paul De Muniz of the Oregon Supreme Court announced this news to all state courts this morning. More details are developing and a public press release is expected soon.
