Jo Rae Perkins for U.S. Senate 2014

Jo Rae Perkins of Albany recently filed with the Federal Election Commission as a candidate for the United States Senate. Perkins was the GOP chair in Linn County from January 2009 to November 2012. She recently graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, while minoring in Speech Communication.

In 1978, Jo Rae married her high school sweetheart George, a self-employed carpet installation contractor. They have two adult children, and 5 grandchildren, with another grandbaby due in November.

Although Perkins has not held an elected office outside of Precinct Committee Person, she brings years of real life experience and knowledge to the political arena. Prior to returning to college, Perkins owned Eagle Financial Planning & Investments as a Certified Financial Planner and Financial Advisor; working with clients on budget management and investments. She worked for several bank brokerage firms as a financial advisor, and has been a banker and realtor.

Perkins believes the time has come when voters are weary of career politicians whose main interest is their own agenda. Standing on the core principles of our Founding Fathers, Perkins is ready to be a Stateswoman who listens, and steps up for the People she represents.

She firmly believes every bill should pass a three-way test: Is it congruent with the U.S. Constitution? Is it congruent with her values and fiscal conservatism, and is it free from pork barrel spending and other non-related issues?

Jo Rae has begun her travels around the state to meet with and hear from voters. She welcomes the opportunity to meet with various groups around the state to listen to the concerns of Oregonians.  Requests to have Jo Rae Perkins meet with your group or organization, are handled via the Schedule link on her website at www.perkinsforussenate.com or via email at [email protected].

On Friday August 16, Jo Rae Perkins will be traveling the I-5 corridor making four campaign stops.  Beginning at 10:15 a.m. in Albany, she will be holding a press conference at the KGAL Studios in the Old Library Building 1390 Waverly Dr. SE
