Obama trust factor: drops from 66% to 54%

As noted in Politico, “[T]he number of Americans who say they trust the president has fallen from 66 percent to 54 percent. At the same time, the percentage of those who say they do not trust the president has jumped from 31 to 42. ”

What is changing people’s mind?

    >What is changing people’s mind?

Maybe the fact that he spent a boat load of money, said we had to do it fast that there wasn’t even time to read the bill and it is now pretty apparent to all that BO’s stimulus wasn’t about getting us out of the depression at all.

Maybe the fact that he appears to be doing the exact same thing with health care reform.

This hurry up approach has cost us all dearly in terms of the financial security of this country.

It is starting to smack of the car salesman who offers you a deal and says you need to take it quick because he has to go visit his sick mother in five minutes.

Maybe it’s a case of “what have you done for me lately?” Economy is only just beginning to come back, unemployment is very high, world peace has not yet broken out, health care policy is becoming a congressional sausage. How does one stay above 60% with all that on the plate?

Reagan’s popularity declined significantly his first 2 years, as did Clinton’s. Both rebounded pretty well. Carter and both Bushes started off well (in popularity,) then declined with the economy and were unable to recover. As Carville said, its the economy stupid. Its hard to love the president when you are unemployed, your business is down 20%, or your net worth has declined 30%.

D-E-A-N is posting again. How is that tax evasion case coming along?

Apparently it had to take reality for a lot of Obama voters to grasp the
fact that Obama would not be able to solve problems simply by tossing
water bottles at them and saying that, “Everything’s gonna be okay”.

It could be that nothing he has done has made a difference in anything.
    Nothing.
Gitmo still open, most deaths ever since start of war in Afghanistan, debt out the wazoo, still trouble in Iran, N. Korea, etc., massive unemployment, bailouts that DID NOT WORK, etc., etc.
This guy is out of his league.
    OUT.

Yes, I’ve reviewd all the major polling companies and they are showing an approval rate that is plummeting. Obama is really starting to look inept and un-informed.

  • Jerry

And panicked. And desparate. And foolish. He hasn’t even read the house bill. What utter nonsense.
Hurry – we must pass this fast before anyone knows what’s in it, including me??
    That’s change?
    I don’t think so.
