Rumor: Allen Alley evaluating run for state senate

Allen Alley is rumored to be considering a run for Oregon State Senate in District 19, which is currently held by Sen. Richard Devlin (D).

Devlin last won re-election in November 2010, defeating Republican challenger Mary Kremer 54.5% to 45.3% (5,141 votes). Devlin spent nearly $1 million to retain his seat, to Kremer’s $270,000.

Allen Alley served as deputy chief of staff for Democratic Governor Ted Kulongoski, and has previously run for State Treasurer, Governor and he has served as the Oregon Republican Party Chair. Alley was earlier rumored to be considering another run for Governor.

When asked about the most recent rumors about a possible run for state senate, Alley replied that he has made “no decisions,” and that he is “listening to opinions from a wide variety of folks.”
