Should medical marijuana users lose their right to bear arms?

Some local sheriffs are pushing against allowing concealed handgun permits for medical pot patients which has moved the controversy into the Oregon Court of Appeals. The sheriffs contend that Marijuana is still defined under federal law as a controlled substance.
