2 Videos: Media pushes back on Obama thwarting rules

Below is one of the top videos of the week on You Tube. It shows White House Press Secretary being pressed hard on the lack of transparency with Health Care legislation.

Below is CNN pressing union head, Andy Stern, on visiting the White House 22 times and not registering as a lobbyist.

Did anyone expect this empty suit to actually do what he said he was going to do? I sure did not – he is nothing more than a Chicago thug.
It is not even politics as usual. Carter was better than this guy.
At least he was so weak he could not hurt much.
This guy is weak, too, but the populace is even weaker for allowing him to ruin our nation.

“Did anyone expect this empty suit to actually do what he said he was going to do?”

Let’s see. He said he would pass a stimulus bill to keep the economy from going the rest of the way down the drain Bush sent it. And he did. Check.

He said he would draw down forces in Iraq and ramp them up in Afghanistan. Check.

He said he would get a comprehensive health care bill passed. Nearly checked.

He said he would get a climate change bill passed. Passed the House. stalled (for now) in the Senate.

He said he would re-regulate the banking industry to prevent future fiascoes brought to us by free-market ideologues. Still working on it.

He said he would end torture as US policy. Check.

He said he would close Guantanamo. Working on it, with no help from Republicans.

He said health care deliberations would be open and on C-span. Ooops. They weren’t.

I’d say he has a pretty good scorecard of doing, or trying to do what he said. He is not batting 1000, unlike Bush I suppose.

Chicago thug? Being a former thug from Chicago, I assure you Obama is not a Chicago thug. He wouldn’t last 5 minutes in a street brawl. Try a different metaphor.

Try a different metaphor. OK “Usurper”

I’d also like to push back on Obama as long as he doesn’t wear a shirt 😉

Oh hey, speaking of check lists – Lets go over some of my predictions on day one of the BO presidency.

No closing of GITMO within a year – Check

No withdrawal from Iraq any time soon – Check.

No passage of Cap and Trade within a year – Check.

oh, and wait a minute, the big one

No passage of health care this year ( made in 2009, years up!) – Check

Bet you are glad you welshed on our bet Dean.

        >Being a former thug from Chicago, I assure you Obama is not a Chicago thug. He wouldn’t last 5 minutes in a street brawl. Try a different metapho

Maybe try a different lie. A guy who welshes on a bet who is fool enough to idolize an idiot like Pete Seegar, cast as a one time Chicago thug is just simply not believable.

“Maybe try a different lie. A guy who welshes on a bet who is fool enough to idolize an idiot like Pete Seegar, cast as a one time Chicago thug is just simply not believable.”

Rupert, it might surprise you to hear that I don’t really care what you believe or don’t believe about me, my present, or my past. I mean, there are so many facts of life and nature you don’t accept, why should I care what you accept about me?

As for your Obama predictions…wow. You are so clairvoyant. He ran on withdrawing from Iraq 16 months after taking office. The current schedule pushes that to I think 18 months. So by all means congratulate yourself. Passing cap and trade is a function of Congress, not the presidency. The House has passed it, and the Senate as usual is bogged down. They will get there eventually or the EPA will impose worse. And you may have “won” on health care by a whole month. You really should toast yourself on that one. Overall, Obama has been so ineffectual I’m amazed you bother to complain about him.

As for the bet we didn’t make….you just reminded me of why I decided to not agree to it.

          • Rupert in Springfield

            >you just reminded me of why I decided to not agree to it.

            Obviously.

The bet would have been lost and you would have had to pay up.

You didnt agree to getting paid five to one odds and having to define what health care reform would mean.

When you make a bet, and someone accepts not only your bet and your terms but also offers to pay you five to one and you back down, its hardly in comporting to this new ex street thug image you are trying to put on here.

Keep on keeping it real gangsta Dean, you and yo bad self is da bomb!

          • v person

Now you offered 5 to 1 odds? Whatever.

The offer of a bet Rupert, went away when you required me to produce 5 character witnesses. But hey…why bring that up? Anyway, I truly don’t want to interfere with your fantasy life. So enjoy the moment. Pretend there is no Obama, or that health care won’t pass, or nothing I say about myself is true. Whatever you need to get through the next day. I understand.

    • Mary’s Opinion

Oliver, what would you have the populace do to prevent Obama from ruining our nation? It is my experience and observation that most of our elected officials in the US House and Senate ignore communication from their constituents and ridicule the grassroots movement against Obama’s vision for America. These senators and representatives vote for what their party and president want not what is good for America and her citizens. Worst of all they think we’re not smart enough to think and care for ourselves. Would you have bloodshed in the streets? Our best recourse is our vote.

The last time the Dems held sway in both the Executive and Legislative branches of government were those glorious Jimmy Carter years. But, we survived! The nation is bigger than a single person or even a misguided group of people. We will survive this one too. Be of good cheer.

“The last time the Dems held sway in both the Executive and Legislative branches of government were those glorious Jimmy Carter years.”

You need to brush up on your history Dan. The Democrats had all of Congress and the Presidency during the first 2 years of the Clinton Administration.

And the run the Republicans had in complete control under Bush. That went swimmingly well didn’t it?
