Kind of like when a train crashes because the engineer was going twice the speed limit and politicians say that means we need more infrastructure spending?

If a tree burns in a forest, and no one is there to see it, does that still mean we need more spending?

  • Eric Blair

“Imposes severance tax on harvest of timber from forestlands in Oregon to fund income tax credit for milling of logs in Oregon, income tax credit for production or collection of biomass, fire suppression, watershed enhancement programs and woodstove certification program, and for distribution to counties.”

Not just fire suppression. One of the things I’ve learned about Oregon Catalyst is that what they leave out is frequently more important than what they note.

We all know that money collected by Government is distributed exactly as described in the law allowing collection and none is spent for overhead.

  • Myke

I’ve been saying this for years. People who are opposed to good forest management, aka. locking up the resources as untouchable, are pro global warming, poverty, drug addiction, animal endangerment, hopelessness, and destroying our rural communities. Their intent is short sighted and evil.
