Apparently peace prizes don’t stop nuclear missiles

2009: President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for his “pledges to reduce the world stock of nuclear arms.”

2015: Russia is getting 40 new nuclear missiles. From the Associated Press today “Russia’s military this year alone will receive over 40 new intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of piercing any missile defenses, President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday in a blunt reminder of the nation’s nuclear might amid tensions with the West over Ukraine.”

    Mutual elimination, as with nuclear weapons, is not a winning strategy like other methods which would allow one-side to declare check mate. So, nucs are a necessary evil, but are not a winning strategy at the same time.

    Meanwhile, America is stuck with an economic illiterate who uses a White House speech writer as one of his main national security advisors. You can’t make up this type of stupidity.

    This is why they shouldn’t hand out Nobel Peace Prizes to people who haven’t actually accomplished something.
