Government worker tries to infiltrate, defame tax protesters

A Beaverton Middle School teacher has been trying to organize an effort to bring down the Oregon Tea Party movement by encouraging people to show up as false supporters. These false supporters would in essence show up with signs spelled incorrectly and be obnoxious for the TV cameras. It turns out the teacher, Jason Levin, was pushing his “Crash the Tea Party Website” website during school hours while working.Lars Larson said it best on KATU– “This is a man who thinks it’s legitimate to further your political goals by lying, by stealing and damaging somebody else’s reputation. I don’t want a kid like that teaching kids.”

If you are angry, please join the Tea Party rally at the State Capitol steps on April 15th, 11:30am.

Look, this guy is a jerk and deserves zero respect whatsoever. He brings forth the absolutely ugliest but all to common face of liberalism – its need to sow the seeds of racism to advance its goals.

We saw it after the health care vote when members of the Congressional Black Caucus marched by protesters and lied saying they heard racial slurs yelled at them. With zillions of camers videoing the event not one has a single racial slur on tape despite a $100,000 reward being offered for any video footage that caught it.

Its the ugly racial attitudes of liberalism in their purest form that this guy is promoting and while that should be recognized.

That said the contention that he did this on school time is dubious.

I know this because I went and checked the code on the web site as soon as I heard about this jerk.

Here is the part in question from the landing page of crashtheteaparty.org

Ok – So if you look at this you see the last save was at 22.32 hours

That looks to be 10.32 at night.

However the Z at the end of the time stamp indicates Zulu time. This is UTC time, in other words GMT.

Ok – so then that comes out to be 2.30 PM

Wow, sure looks like school time to me.

But wait. We are on daylight savings time. So 22.32 Zulu time on April 6th would actually equate to 3.32PM our time, taking daylight savings into account.

Thats as far as I took it. I did not go to the school to find out when the school day officially ended on April 6th.

However, school often lets out at 3.30PM and since this is stamped 3.32PM it is conceivably after school time.

It should also be noted Lars did not claim this guy did it on school time.

  • Rupert in Springfield

Note – I tried to copy the code exactly. It looks like a lot of it was stripped when I tried to post since this blog does not support posting html.

However the time date stamp shown is correct.

The first one if the date of creation.

The second is the date of last save.

Since they are the same, this means the site is its first revision.

So, if his school day ends at 3.30, yes, perhaps he created, saved and uploaded the page to the server in two minutes.

    Maybe

The bottom line is that unless his day ends substantially after 3.30 pm it is not conclusive proof he did this on school time.

  • Reper

School time? Heck he could have done it during class as a school project and nothing will happen to him. It is OK to commit crimes against conservatives but liberals you cannot even say a bad word about.

    • Rupert in Springfield

      >but liberals you cannot even say a bad word about.

And even if you don’t say a bad word about them, they will make it up and say you did and that will still count.

Look for absolutely no straightforward condemnation of this guy from liberals on this blog. There wont be a peep from the party of followers.

I stood up and defended him, even though I think he is scum, on the school time charge. I also emailed Lars about it so he could correct the claim (which he did not make). A liberal would never do something like that.

I can guarantee you not one liberal will condemn this guy on this blog in a straight up manner.

At best, we will hear – yes he was bad, but wait, look at all the bad things this Republican did yadda yadda.

      • Anonymous

“This is a man who thinks it’s legitimate to further your political goals by lying, by stealing and damaging somebody else’s reputation. I don’t want a kid like that teaching kids.”

Sounds like he may have been inspired by Rush Limbaugh. Anyone remember “Operation Chaos”?

        • Rupert in Springfield

Yep, and Operation Chaos had nothing in common with this.

Nice try but not even close.

But – You do further the point that not one liberal will criticize this guy in a straight up fashion.

          • Anonymous

Not a liberal (We’ve been through this before, and, yes, I am very much to the left of you, Rupert.), regardless, I will repeat.

“This is a man who thinks it’s legitimate to further your political goals by lying…”

That was exactly what Operation Chaos was about. Misrepresenting oneself politically (lying) to further one’s political goals. I mentioned it because you, for whatever reason, saw fit to bait liberals with your “at best, we will hear” line when it is obvious that you are guilty of the same exact thing (going the other direction).

You do always make me laugh though. Thanks.

          • Rupert in Springfield

            >Not a liberal (We’ve been through this before, and, yes, I am very much to the left of you, Rupert.),

Oh wow, is this prudish obsessive stalker guy back from the grave? Cool. I was worried you had flown the coop.

            >That was exactly what Operation Chaos was about. Misrepresenting oneself politically (lying) to further one’s political goals.

Um, nope. that’s not what it was and anyone who listened to the show would not be under that impression.

We know you don’t listen to the show because we can go back and check the show pretty easily on the Rush website and find what you are saying is totally untrue.

Operation Chaos was about playing up the lengthy campaign between Clinton and Obama. There was no call to arms to infiltrate the campaign.

            Here is the quote:

“The poll showed Arizona Sen. McCain, who has clinched the Republican presidential nomination, is benefiting from the lengthy campaign battle between Obama and Clinton.” Well, yes, which was the primary purpose of Operation Chaos. ”

Here is the source – http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_031908/content/01125108.guest.html

Ok, so you simply don’t know what you are talking about.

However your point is valuable in that it exactly proves my prediction – liberals simply cannot straight up criticize one of their own.

You did exactly what I said would happen – Here is the quote:

“At best, we will hear – yes he was bad, but wait, look at all the bad things this Republican did yadda yadda. ”

Yep – You did exactly that.

So, thanks for the demonstration of what I was saying and welcome back to the blog!

          • Anonymous

Wow. Always the provocateur, eh, Rupert?

Why must you continually fall back on judging anyone who does not hold your extremist views as a liberal? Incredibly weak, and incredibly telling of your insecurity as well. Furthermore, that you must continually attempt to insult me and malign me as “prudish” (Because I don’t share your affinity for posting nude photos of myself on amateur porn sites? What?) and as some kind of “stalker” (I still don’t understand that one, and really can’t imagine how you could possibly hold yourself in such high regard. It’s a little frightening actually.) doesn’t exactly speak well of your character. But that, of course, is not news to anyone who frequents this blog.

With regard to Rush, um, actually I do listen to his show regularly, and “Operation Chaos was about playing up the lengthy campaign between Clinton and Obama” by interfering with the electoral process to the degree that the legality of the methods employed was called into question by many.

While I can’t prevent your narcissism from causing you to congratulate yourself endlessly, I can assert that you are, thankfully, not the only representative of conservatism in this state. Cheers to that.

And by the way, thanks for demonstrating my point, that you would defend without question similar tactics when employed by non-liberals.

          • Rupert in Springfield

            >And by the way, thanks for demonstrating my point, that you would defend without question similar tactics when employed by non-liberals.

Well, leaving aside that you never made that point, you merely cited Rush lets address this without question nonsense.

I didn’t defend it without question. I listen to the show so I know what you said to be untrue.

But…. I wanted to make sure, so I went to the Rush website and looked up something that would support my position.

Well, in about two minutes I found the quote.

So, it was hardly without question. I gave a direct reason.

As for anyone being a liberal who doesn’t agree with me, what nonsense.

I gave a direct prediction for how the liberals would react.

You and Dean directly fulfilled that prediction, after I made it and posted it. Whenever you are on here you post some sort of liberal nonsense so sorry, from what I see here you are about as liberal as they come.

          • Anonymous

            >Well, leaving aside that you never made that point, you merely cited Rush lets address
            >this without question nonsense.

I’ll quote myself: “…it is obvious that you are guilty of the same exact thing (going the other direction).”

            >I didn’t defend it without question. I listen to the show so I know what you said to be
            >untrue.

            Uh huh. Whatever you say.

            >But…. I wanted to make sure, so I went to the Rush website and looked up something
            >that would support my position.

Support what position? That Operation Chaos had nothing to do with misrepresenting oneself politically? If you listened to the show, Rupert, you would also know that Rush can’t stand McCain and never supported his candidacy. The distal goal of Rush’s shenanigans may have been to exhaust the resources of the Democratic candidates (or whatever his m.o. was), but only an idiot and/or a liar would pretend that Operation Chaos was an honorable means of political action. Which are you, Rupert? An idiot or a liar? Maybe both?

            >Well, in about two minutes I found the quote.

Wow, how impressive, Rupert. You found a quote! Good for you.

            >So, it was hardly without question. I gave a direct reason.

Which suggests that you are in fact an idiot.

            >As for anyone being a liberal who doesn’t agree with me, what nonsense.

            Save it.

            >I gave a direct prediction for how the liberals would react.
            >You and Dean directly fulfilled that prediction, after I made it and posted it.

No, you communicated an expectation, and I responded by suggesting that you are a hypocrite.
You’re about as difficult to see through as a window.

            >Whenever you are on here you post some sort of liberal nonsense so sorry, from
            >what I see here you are about as liberal as they come.

Whenever I’m on here? Welcome back? I never went anywhere, moron.

It speaks volumes of how narrow is your vision that because I rarely choose to engage you, you think I am not present. Or that the only time you do take notice, like some kind of mindless attack dog, is when I post a comment that can be perceived as sympathetic to liberalism. That’s hilarious.

And if I may, what a loudmouthed ignorant punk you are. What’s your deal, dude? Why do you think you know everything? Why do you think you even know who you’re talking to? When I filled out my voter registration card, and checked the Republican box, I don’t recall it saying anything about taking marching orders from clowns like you (or Rush Limbaugh).

          • valley p

Ok…i’ll take the bait. I’m a certified liberal and if what we read about this is at all accurate, I’ll criticize the teacher on 2 grounds. First, he shouldn’t do outside politics on his work time using school property. Its not clear whether he did this or not, but if he did he should be reprimanded by his employers.

Second, both tactically and as a matter of taste, I think its wrong to wave signs pretending to be what you are not in order to discredit your opponents. Tactically its dumb because then it allows the other side (tea party) to claim that every dumb or racist or bad taste sign one of their actual supporters waves around is the work of infiltrators. Bad taste in that…well…its not very sporting. There are legitimate concerns that some or most tea partiers have, and those of us on the other side should respect their right to protest and raise their issues unmolested by us. Better to hold up a counter sign at tea party rallies with your own counter message. Its always better to be respectful and be willing to engage the other side. You have a better chance to change minds that way, and you represent your own position(s) more effectively.

Just because one side uses nefarious tactics (i.e. Rush, Beck, etc) does not mean we should.

          • Rupert in Springfield

Wow, I was so close to actually being impressed. I mean I was really impressed – Dean I misjudged you – because I have said repeatedly it is absolutely impossible for you to ever criticize your leaders in a straightforward fashion.

Bbut then here we go the “yep, its bad, but not as bad as Republicans do yadda yadda” strategy.

“Just because one side uses nefarious tactics (i.e. Rush, Beck, etc) does not mean we should. ”

Ok, so that two liberals who simply cannot straightforward criticize this guy, you and prudish stalker guy.

I think that leaves retired professor and dartagnean – I wonder if it is possible either one of them could possibly just say this guy s wrong.

          • valley p

I knew it would be too much to *admit you were wrong* . I knew you would find a way to talk yourself out of that. Par for the course Rupert. You rarely disappoint.

“It is absolutely impossible for you to ever criticize your leaders”

It may come as a shock, but I don’t consider an unkown teacher from Beaverton to be one of my leaders. In fact, I don’t think I even have any “leaders,” but that is another matter.

“Bbut then here we go the “yep, its bad, but not as bad as Republicans do”

Nowhere did I suggest “not as bad as.” It might be as bad or worse on some scale that I don’t use. I simply pointed out both sides (pr all sides if you prefer) use questionable tactics. I don’t keep score on how much of each does what. My point was its a lousy excuse to say the other side did this or that so we should do it too.

As for “just say this guy is wrong,” here is the problem. I like to explain my reasoning. He is wrong because….

If that is too complicated for you, nothing I can do about that.

          • Rupert in Springfield

            >I knew it would be too much to admit you were wrong . I knew you would find a way to talk yourself out of that. Par for the course Rupert. You rarely disappoint.

Re read Dean – I stated I was totally prepared to admit I had misjudged you, before you fulfilled my prediction with your last line.

Sorry – When I say how you are going to react and then you react exactly as predicted that is not a case of me being wrong.

            >Nowhere did I suggest “not as bad as.”

            Here is the quote

“Just because one side uses nefarious tactics (i.e. Rush, Beck, etc) does not mean we should. ”

Please, try and remember what you wrote next time.

          • valley p

“Re read Dean – I stated I was totally prepared to admit I had misjudged you”

That is big of you. But it is also weaseling out of admitting you were wrong.

“Please, try and remember what you wrote next time”

I did not write that what Beck and Limbaugh do is equal, worse, or better than what Jason did. I was addressing anonymous’ point about operation chaos in suggesting that one shouldn’t justify a bad action by pointing to someone elses bad (nefarious) action. You really don’t get that? Too much explanation again? I’ll make it easier for you then: 2 wrongs do not make a right.

  • Bob Clark

Another example of government employee union thuggery. The guy probably gains union standing. Johnny Friendly the union boss probably winks and says, “good idea kid.” The government employee unions really need to be taken down a notch in this state. Too bad Oregon doesn’t have a lieutenant Governor position we could let loose our pitbull Sizemore to run for against a union backed opponent.

  • Steve Plunk

I find it interesting this immature brat is now complaining about telephone harassment and threats. I guess he didn’t realize when you play dirty things get dirty all the way around.

What he didn’t expect was the mobilization of Tea Party activists in preparation for such nonsense. Those with offensive signs or speaking to the press like idiots will be photographed and identified. Central websites will collect these false flag operators and expose them. In the end the Tea Party will come off as mature political participants while the lunatics like Levin will have proven themselves snotty children not ready for societal responsibility.

This also one more example of the teaching profession’s problem with immature members. Self policing will go along way toward real credibility as a true profession.

Ruined my day as I was completely unaware I’m likely one and maybe all three. Am going to bed now for fear my inner self might erupt and try to paint Jason and his fine upstanding group as something other than defenders of the nation and all that is good.

As I’m old, by tomorrow morning I’ll have forgotten why I went to bed early and all will be well again.

  • TEA’D

I don’t understand the extreme progressive lefts problem with the TEA parties. Do the progressives like more taxes, more government control, more social programs, taking from your neighbor his earnings to support your laziness, hate corporations that offer you employment, hate the banks that loan you money, hate the investors who make money for your 401k”s, hate everyone for succeeding in our capitalist country?

This must be such a bad country to live in I’m surprised that the progressives even want to stay here, let alone live here. How about living somewhere where you can voice your opinions without worrying about being condemned or even beat up. Where’s the coverage for the two young republican people that were severely beaten up in New Orleans last Friday just for wearing a Sarah Palin pin?

Instead the progressives want to make trouble, beat people up and use their typical vile methods of handling people that don’t agree with their warped point of view? By the way, what is your point of view? What do you want from this country?

    • valley p

“Do the progressives like more taxes, more government control…”

I don’t consider myself “extreme,” but am part of the “progressive left”. I’ll try to answer on behalf of my fellow progressives.

Do we want more government control? In some cases yes, and in others we prefer less. We want more control over the banking system, which left to its own devices nearly managed to bring our entire economy down in 2008. We want more control over pollution that threatens our health and the environment we all depend on. We want less control over our sex lives and reproduction among other things.

We want BETTER social programs, particularly affordable access to health care as a right of citizenship. Expanding Medicare to all citizens would be fine with us, though we will take Obamacare (reliant on private insurance) as a 2nd choice.

Progressives are as hard working and pay the same taxes conservatives do. To the extent we advocate raising taxes to pay for government, we want a progressive tax system that takes more from those who can afford it and less from those who can’t. And for those who can’t afford much of anything, we want to offer a hand up.

We don’t hate investors. Many of us ARE investors. Many of us own our own businesses, or are farmers, fishermen, policemen, teachers, you name it. We are your neighbors. Not alien beings.

“This must be such a bad country to live in I’m surprised that the progressives even want to stay here”

It may seem odd to you, but we feel the same way about the Tea Party. It looks to us like you don’t believe in our system of democratic government that elected a president and Congress you don’t like, so you question whether he was even born here. A new law is passed by a substantial majority and you want it overturned in court rather than give it a chance to work. Some of you come very close to advocating taking up arms against your government and fellow citizens. Some of you spit on and threaten the lives of Congress men and women.

“By the way, what is your point of view? What do you want from this country? ”

Speaking for myself, I love my country. I want it to be free, prosperous, generous, peaceful, and hopeful about the future rather than fearful. I want our politics to be a respectful dialogue rather than a bunch of name calling and threats. How about you?

      • Ron Marquez

…..I want our politics to be a respectful dialogue rather than a bunch of name calling and threats. How about you?…..

Guess you didn’t know Jason Levin has labeled those of us who disagree with the direction our country is headed as “racists, homophobes, and morons”.

Civility ? Nope. Name calling ? Yup.
