Lars Larson: Disturbing allegations surrounding Al Gore

Lars Larson: Disturbing allegations surrounding Al GoreThere is something deeply disturbing about the allegations surrounding Vice President Al Gore and it’s not just the sexy part.

The documents are out there. Police reports say that a woman has now accused Vice President Al Gore of attempting to sexually assault her in a hotel room almost four year ago.

The woman is professional, with a Bachelor’s Degree from a college. She is professionally licensed to do massages. She went to Vice President Al Gore room, where she says he tried to attack her. She says she was afraid to run because she was afraid of what might happen and what might happen to her career if she made the allegation. So the allegations remain secret.

She can’t sue anymore so money’s not the object. The question is “what about the allegedly creepy behavior of Al Gore and the way that he behaved toward this woman?

Do you suppose he’ll ever answer those questions publicly? Will the police or prosecutors ever pursue him?

“professional, with a Bachelor’s Degree from a college”

I hadn’t realized that Lars esteemed so highly the fruit of higher education. Is her Bachelor’s Degree in massage therapy? I wonder which of our acclaimed institutions of higher education offer such a program. No doubt the professors are not just your typical academic idle theorists, but are good with their hands as well.

Yes, I bet she is a “professional.” And her statements in her police report ring of political revenge. I personally believe she was a plant sent to entrap Mr. Gore to get him to do something unseemly, didn’t get what she wanted or hoped for, and then sought to get more the other way. If you have been paying attention to the actual work he has been doing instead of the rumors, that explanation becomes much more palatable. There are without a doubt certain interests that would like nothing better than to see the man fall due to character assassination because they think that would somehow disprove the facts surrounding global warming and their effects being exacerbated by human behavior. The timeline of this alleged incident was just when he was going strong with his
climate presentations that were getting huge crowds. His movie, An Inconvenient Truth had just opened four months earlier, and people were beginning to understand the importance of this crisis.
You honestly think he is going to ruin all of that? His work is his life, and getting out the truth about this crisis his mission.

But of course, the accusation definitely wouldn’t have flown then because he was married and his marital credentials were sound. With a separation that could be skewed to whatever people think
may have caused it, it becomes much more believable to those who automatically want to believe it because they just don’t like him, or don’t believe in global warming, or just don’t like Democrats, or are just jealous of his success, are members of the media with a grudge, or whatever reason validates these accusations in their own mind. And now with the ecological disaster in the Gulf bringing on louder calls for a climate bill that Mr. Gore has been a central voice in advocating, shutting him up is even more imperative.

I have been supporting and writing about the events in this man’s life for about 18 years.
He is an honorable man who loves his family, and is passionate about his work. I personally find the predisposition of many to simply conclude he would do this to another woman to be totally unfair. And the fact that the police report was even made so public on the Internet after it was already announced by law enforcement that there was no evidence to even charge him shows what this is really all about. The media has not been innocent in the character assassination of Al Gore. It has made him a target for years. Remember 2000? I think before one commits themself to simply condemning the man especially based on the circumstances, they need to look at the history.

To me, this points to a well “oiled” character smear to shut up the one person who has made the greatest strides in making people aware of a crisis that these certain interests would rather see shoved under the rug to preserve their own profits. Hopefully, if any investigating is done it will be as to what or who is really behind this spate of accusations and bad press and it’s timing. It is suspicious to say the least.

    • Al Gore’s concience

Wow…conspiracy theory much? Why not let’s go to the simple answer:

Gore wasn’t getting nookie from Tipper, so he thought he could force himself on a masseuse. Gore has been caught, and deserves to go to pound-me-in-the-ass prison.

Al Gore, in all honesty, deserves nothing less than to be raped in prison, just like he tried to do to this woman.

      • jwgibson

Well the man know for being “wooden” is back.

In case you didn’t know he was accused of sexual misconduct. 4 yrs ago. The case is being reopened. The story was just broke the National Enquirer. Years ago , it would have been a joke because of that. But. remember they were the first to break the John Edwards story.

Go here and you can see the documents

        http://www.scribd.com/doc/33564096/Al-Gore-investigation-transcript
        http://www.scribd.com/doc/33499672/Portland-Police-Statement-on-Al-Gore

What’s the old saying? Still waters run deep.

We do know that the Gore’s are separated or in the process.

Remember when Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual misconduct? Investigated by the FBI, who found no evidence? What was said then? Oh yea, something along the lines of… the charges are so important that we have to investigate more.

Do you think there will be an outcry from women’s groups? Or will they keep there mouths shut, like they did for Clinton?

Boy have you drank the Koolaid!!!!!!!!!! Al Bore is nothing but a big Baffoon! His Global Gasbag Hoax is a Joke that anyone with intelligence can see through. “No Evidence”? How about the Lewinski pair of pants that the Masseuse has given to the National Enquirer? The one that they have already verified.

  • Hissyspit

The police did not “pursue” because they found lack of evidence.
Money’s not the object? Reportedly, she requested $1 million dollars from the National Enquirer, but they turned her down.
The Portland newspaper looked into the story for over a year and published nothing because they could find nothing credible.

  • Keith Richard Radford Jr

Oregon! In 1980 like 4 years after the law was repelled to castrate people that need welfare I had a motor cycle accident in Myrtle Creek. My Xwife wanted to go to the health and welfare department for assistance and was told she would have to be made sterile, [have her womb cut out] for the money so she ask me to have a vasectomy in her place. The welfare department jumped at the idea. We were there about a year longer and after my one broken leg healed from the accident I went on to open a shop in California with our 3 kids, 2 kids ours and one the sister of my X wife’s husbands kid, an elder in a religious group. Later she broke up the family sending one kid one way and 2 another again for money through the courts like a traveling wana f**k me [pos] she did it for litigation and money. Her conections in the desert near the runners and their cosorts on the healthcare no smoking bus to hell in its early years got together with some help from some surfers she went home with insteed of me calling me the problem,,,hah! The sex offender registry is a mob of enablers enabling a structure of wanabeez and not worth anything covering for their own idea of who is compliant to a stack of people trying to out impress the next in control to the ominous unseen number one, these number twos want nothing less than genocide over law unenforcable [see lawrence vs. Texas and need their fangs out of the legal process all together. Sex laws do nothing but clog the courts with people making political prisoners of who they think might have some indiscreations when the fact remains sex in its self is not volient and is not rape, while violence is what these yoyo’s preach to control their kids, so the wheel turns in it’s own mud not doing anything but making money for the enablers of a law that is worthless to the best of socity and making rich the worst.

      Thank you for getting sterilized.

I’m always a little skeptical when such allegations take five years to surface. And more than a little skeptical when those making the allegations seek money for telling their story.

“The woman is professional, with a Bachelor’s Degree from a college.”

OK. Where else would she have gotten a Bachelor’s degree from? By watching Glenn Beck at his chalkboard?

Boy its a good thing she doesn’t have a Masters Degree from a college or Gore would really be toast. On the other hand, I guess if she were a high school dropout we could forget the whole thing.

    This is ridiculous.

You would think after the Duke Lacrosse case that there would be the healthy skepticism these cases deserve – especially from conservatives.

You would think Lars would be aware of that, and the fact this woman has zero credibility. She canceled three police interviews – Thats clue one.

She said the reason she cancelled them was to pursue the case civilly, where you only need preponderance of the evidence, a much lower standard than criminal charges require. Obviously there would also be money awarded – That’s clue two.

She then tried to sell her story for $1M – That’s clue three.

The “shes a professional” thing I understand. The left tried to use that as a reason to beleive Anita Hills nutty stories and tried to use lack of professional status to discredit Paula Jones (drag a $100 bill through a trailer park was one line Carville used).

Lars should drop this stupid story as quickly as possible. Continuing to pursue it is making him look as nutty as Ariana Huffington and the Palin Haters (whose new album is set to hit the airwaves this month).

    • a retired professor

I have to agree with you, as occasionally happens. Good work on keeping up with higher education — I mean the Duke lacrosse case. If Lars read the same stuff, he’d know this is regarded as a major scandal (for the liberals) in conservative higher education circles.

      • Rupert in Springfield

How the hell Lars, or anyone, could miss the Duke Lacrosse scandal comparison is a little beyond me. It wasn’t that long ago.

I went to Duke for a summer term during high school so I suppose possibly the scandal might have made more of an impression on me. However I doubt it. It was front page news for weeks while it was going on.

No one else that I am aware of in conservative talk radio has given this episode much credence. Even Michael Savage his dismissed the whole thing. That Lars cannot bring a basic level of intellectual honesty to this situation is a disappointment.

Unless the accuser comes forward with something way more substantial than what we know so far, this event should be dropped as soon as possible.

The stained pants will tell the tale. Why do you think Al Bore and Tippsy are running around putting all of their “hard” earned Global Gas bag money in to Family Trusts. Not only to avoid inheritance taxes and taxes in General, but to hide the money from all of his Jilted honeys! Gore is a Gasbag and a Joke.

“one person who has made the greatest strides in making people aware of a crisis that these certain interests would rather see shoved under the rug to preserve their own profits.”

Sorry Jan but you are a baboon.

There is no CO2 or global warming crisis and Al Gore is a fraud.

This story is what it is. Either Al got aggressive or he didn’t.

The bigger story is how people like you are so easily duped by the Al Gores and for so long regardless of the asinine claims these warmers have made.

Even here in Oregon we have somne of the most ludicrous claims made with left wing loons looking around and attributing everythig they see or imagine to be related to and attributed to AGW.
    Lunatics all.

  • surfoot

Las you’re pathetic, are your ratings hurting so bad that you have to scrape the bottom of the barrow with probable lies to defame the Democrats. Why not just go back to accusing the stepmother of killing Kyron before the police have even made that accusation, I’m sure that made points.

  • cedarfish

All those who don’t believe this woman need to remember how being victimized affects behavior. She displays classic victim behavior. This type of crime is not only about sex, but also power. She knows he has all the power and she is powerless. That’s why she vacillates and doesn’t come forward. She mistrusts that she’ll be believed. Research crimes of power like rape and you’ll find this is true.

Consequently, her behavior in fact, lends credence to her story.

She is afraid and after her so-called friends told her not to report him because he is saving the world from global warming, she understood that even those she used to trust were not true friends. She has effectively been abandoned and left alone with probably a single friend in whom she could confide.

I feel sorry for her. She experieced a horrible attack, feels isolated and has no where to turn. She probably doesn’t believe the police or anyone else will believe or support her.

    • a retired proessor

Sounds like you took a lot of courses in women’s studies!

    • Rupert in Springfield

Well boo hoo for victim behaviour.

Every idiot and their brother is a victim these days so that doesn’t mean a whole lot.

No one wants a society where, just because a bunch of half wits at Bennington got together and had a consensus on buzz words, we have special crimes with no standard of proof.

The making up of rape or sexual harassment charges has reached an absurd level.

If it can be proven the accuser in any case made up such charges – they should be sentenced to that amount of time that would apply to the crime they made up.

      • valley p

“If it can be proven the accuser in any case made up such charges ”

It is a crime to falsely report a crime. In Oregon, 30 days in jail and a $1250 fine. That should be disincentive enough.

        • Rupert in Springfield

It is a crime in every area I know of. That’s not news.

I am not concerned if it is disincentive. I am concerned if it is just, is there parity with the harm caused.

30 days in jail and a $1,250 fine is hardly proportional to the harm you have caused someone.

Defending against a rape charge is going to caost you way more than $1,250

30 days in jail is in no way restorative to the victem.

If you knowingly and falsely accuse someone of a crime – the only sentence that is just and proportional is that which you accused the other of.

In a civil case you should have to pay what you were suing for.

In a criminal case you should be sentenced to the crime you accused.

I am sick of women running around making up rape charges and then getting to laugh it all off and go on Oprah. The Duke lacrosse pole dancer should be doing hard time now, 10 years minimum.

    From Wikipedia on Victim Blaming.

It has been proposed that one cause of victim-blaming is the “just-world phenomenon”. People who believe that the world has to be fair may find it hard or impossible to accept a situation in which a person is unfairly and badly hurt. This leads to a sense that, somehow, the victim must have surely done ‘something’ to deserve their fate. Another theory entails the need to protect one’s own sense of invulnerability. This inspires people to believe that rape only happens to those who deserve or provoke the assault (Schneider et al., 1994). This is a way of feeling safer. If the potential victim avoids the behaviors of the past victims then they themselves will remain safe and feel less vulnerable. A global survey of attitudes toward sexual violence by the Global Forum for Health Research shows that victim-blaming concepts are at least partially accepted in many countries. In some countries, victim-blaming is more common, and women who have been raped are sometimes deemed to have behaved improperly. Often, these are countries where there is a significant social divide between the freedoms and status afforded to men and women

    • a retired professor

Oh, stop the victim blaming ideology game! Nobody is blaming a “victim” here. The question is whether there is a victim, and who it is. Was the massage therapist a victim of sexual assault? Or is Al Gore the victim of slander and a looming “witch” hunt?

      • valley p

Personally I think we are the victims of Catalyst posting a non story about a maybe event brought to us by National Enquirer in order to discredit Al Gore because they don’t like his politics. Is there someone we can sue about this?

        • Anonymous

Of course the National Enquirer is wrong all the time. Ask John Edwards….LOL

Who do you think should be sued and by whom? It would be great theater to see Algore testify. Of course there will be no lawsuit because a whole lot of information would be brought out in discovery that Algore would not want public. In fact, Algore may quietly pay off his massage therapist like that other democrat from Oregon, Neil “the pedophile”.

      • valley p

I thought the same thing at first but then thought otherwise. Its far too articulate for Jerry. It involved actually looking something up, which Jerry never ever does.

If it IS Jerry, they congratulations to him for upping his game.

        • Rupert in Springfield

I think Jerry is generally articulate, but you are correct that the style of this is wildly different.

I felt maybe after a hiatus he had changed his style for a fresh approach. Kind of the U2 of the blog world.
