Contest: Predict today’s Oregon Primary winners

Who will reign as Oregon’s election prediction champion? Oregon Catalyst is hosting an election prediction contest for the 2016 primary.

We invite all activists, political nerds, news junkies, and involved citizens to enter by posting your answers in reply to this post or by emailing your answers to [email protected]. Emailed responses will be kept confidential except for announcing winners.

All entries must be received by 8pm today (Tuesday) to count.

Republican Party

  1. Who will place second in the Republican Presidential primary: Ted Cruz or John Kasich?
  2. Who will win the Republican primary for US Senate: Sam Carpenter, Mark Callahan, Faye Stewart, or Dan Laschober?
  3. Who will win the Republican primary for Congressional District 4: Art Robinson or Jo Rae Perkins?
  4. Who will win the Republican primary for Congressional District 5: Colm Willis, Ben West, or Seth Allen?
  5. Who will win the Republican primary for Governor: Bruce Cuff, Bob Niemeyer, Bob Forthan, Bud Pierce, or Allan Alley?
  6. Who will win the Republican primary for Secretary of State: Dennis Richardson or Sid Leiken?
  7. Who will win the Republican primary in state House District 23: Mike Nearman or Beth Jones?
  8. Who will win the Republican primary in state House District 26: Matt Wingard, John Boylston, or Rich Vial?

Democratic Party

  1. Who will win the Democratic President nomination: Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders?
  2. Who will win the Democratic Secretary of Senate nomination: Brad Avakian,Val Hoyle, or Richard Devlin?
  3. Who will win the Democratic primary in Congressional District 5: Kurt Schrader or Dave McTeague?
  4. Who will win the Democratic primary in state House District 14: Julie Fahey or James Manning?
  5. Who will win the Democratic primary in state House District 40: Steven Cade, Terry Gibson, or Mark Meek?
  6. Who will win the Democratic primary in state House District 43: Tawna Sanchez or Roberta Phillip-Robbins?
  7. Who will win the Democratic primary in state House District 51: Janelle Bynum or Randy Shannon?
  8. Who will win the Democratic primary in state House District 52: Mark Reynolds or Walt Trandum?

Independent Party of Oregon

  1. Who will receive the most write-in votes for the Independent Party nomination for President: Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, John Kasich, or other?
  2. Who will receive the most write-in votes for the Independent Party nomination for Attorney General: Daniel Crowe, Diane Rosenblum, or other?

Nonpartisan

  1. Who will receive the most votes in the race for Clackamas County Commission Chair: John Ludlow, Paul Savas, Jim Bernard, or Dan Holladay?
  2. Who will receive the most votes in the race for Clackamas County Commission Position 3: Steve Bates, Martha Schrader, Jenifer Valley?
  3. Who will receive the most votes in the race for Clackamas County Commission Position 4: Ken Humberston, Tootie Smith, or Bill King?
  4. Who will receive the most votes in the race for Multnomah County Commission Position 1: Eric Zimmerman, Mel Rader, Brian Wilson, Marisha Childs, Ken Stokes, Wes Soderback, or Sharon Meieran?
  5. Who will receive the most votes in the race for Multnomah County Commission Position 4: Amanda Schroeder or Lori Stegmann?
  6. Who will receive the most votes in the race for Washington County Commission District 3: Roy Rogers or Glendora Claybrooks?
  7. Will Ted Wheeler receive more than 50% of the vote for Portland Mayor and avoid a run-off?
  8. Will Measure 93, disincorperating the City of Damascus, pass?
  9. Will Measure 12-58, overturning Grant County’s marijuana ban, pass?
  10. Will Measure 14-55, prohibiting commercial bottled water production in Hood River County, pass?
  11. Will Measure 18-105, allowing licensed medical and retail marijuana operations in Klamath County, pass?

Tiebreaker:

  1. How many write-in votes will C.W. Smith receive in the Republican primary in state Senate District 28 against Dennis Linthicum?
