Bob Tiernan is “passing the torch”

By NW Spotlight,

Bob Tiernan has announced to the Oregon Repubican Party Central Committee that he’s decided that it’s time to “move on.”  In his announcement, he indicated that he had made the decision several months ago not to run again if he could find another Republican leader to run for chairman who could build on the accomplishments of the past two years.

Tiernan will be getting back to his consulting business and a new assignment in the Navy Reserve.

Oregon Catalyst broke the story last Friday about the push to get Allen Alley to run for Oregon GOP chair.

UPDATE

The Oregon Repubican Party has issued a press release: Allen Alley has announced that he will run for party chair when the new chair is elected later this month (January 22nd), and he is endorsed by Bob Tiernan and Rep. Greg Walden.
