If so, I can clearly see that Oregon's GOP is headed for yet another train wreck this year, UNLESS the independent thinking Republicans regain control from the party leadership that's destroyed it.
The fact that Bill Sizemore (a) is registered as a Republican candidate for Governor, (b) attended Dorchester, and (c) was excluded from the candidate debate was a clear enough indication that he's posing a serious threat to be the leading GOP candidate in early May. Why else would the Multnomah media all but dismiss him to dissuade Republicans from choosing the BEST, rather than going along with the newspaper polls and straw polls to "choose" the Least-Worst?
http://www.billsizemore.com/philosophy.htm - Ya can't keep a good man down, even though that's exactly what Portland's media moguls want to do. This primary election will NOT be yours to manipulate this time, but it will be ours to lose.
Bill Sizemore just needs to retire from politics and focus on being a great parent like he's always been.
As for Mr. Sizemore, I have said it many times, great guy, wish he could have been in this election, but his legal battles (right or wrong) will suck too much time during a campaign. He needs to take care of business first.
It's not the 90's, we don't need retreads in either party, so good luck Allen Alley I think he showed his ability to lead this weekend. Dudley has a huge money advantage so we'll see.
I don't think Alley is my ideal guy - but he ain't bad. He is no RINO and can beat Kitzhaber. If he won, he'd be a big improvement over the last 28 years or so.
Alley can win this race. Dudley can not.
Dudley should drop out and take on Blumenauer.
Dudley will get NO support from the religious right. In fact, if Dudley is the nominee, you can guarantee at least 5% (maybe up to 10%) of the vote goes third party.
Dudley does nothing to bring in tea party support. He may be an "outsider" in that he has never held office before, but his campaign is all DC insider and the tea party crowd knows this.
Dudley may have some good name ID in Portland and among NBA fans, but Ma and Pa Oregonian outside of the I-5 corridor have no reason to know him and don't care how tall he is or what team he played for. They care about jobs, taxes, property rights, freedom and liberty. What has Dudley ever done to differentiate himself from any other politician on these issues?
OK, here is my serious suggestion:
Dudley has some support in Portland. Put it to good use. Run against Earl Blumenauer. That might be a race he can win. But there is no way in hell Dudley can win a statewide election as a Republican.
If we lose this time around, maybe next time we can field a primary of Bob Tiernan, Jason Atkinson, Sid Leiken and maybe a fresh face or two. This time, however, none of them ran. So don't blame Dorchester Republicans, ok?
Support Dudley or we will be looking at Kitzhaber...again.
Can you actually articulate a position, or are you just here to insult the overwhelming majority who didn't like Dudley?
And people move into different districts all the time.
oh, and how ineffective was the religious right when it voted in "one man one woman" for marriage? do you REALLY think values voters are just a "small reminenant" [sic]?
Support Dudley or we will be looking at Kitzhaber...again.
