Broad Coalition of Mayors, Sheriffs, Commissioners, and School Board Members Back Cornilles

Beaverton, OR — Rob Cornilles, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Special Election for Oregon’s First Congressional District, has announced a unique and still growing coalition of 21 mayors, four county sheriffs, five county commissioners, and five school board members from Northwest Oregon supporting his candidacy. Cornilles enjoys support from nearly 70% of the district’s mayors and four out of five sheriffs in the district.

“Those who know voters’ issues best, our local elected officials, are overwhelmingly endorsing my candidacy” said Cornilles. “I am grateful for their confidence in my skills and experience to bring real representation to Northwest Oregon. They recognize I am the only job creator in the race and the only one who has a plan to get our local economy moving again.”

“I am also heartened by the fact several of these supporters are independents and Democrats, underscoring my ability to work across the aisle and a strong indication of how I will get things done in Congress,” Cornilles said.

Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey said: “It’s time we expected more from our representative in Congress. And we trust Rob Cornilles to meet those expectations. We are united in our commitment to help Rob be elected because we know he has the job-creating experience and skills to help bring stability and growth to Oregon when we need it most.”
