King City, Oregon – Native Oregonian John Boylston, announced on March 3rd that he will run for the House District 26 legislative seat being vacated by Representative John Davis at the end of his term.
District 26 encompasses areas of Wilsonville, Sherwood, King City, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Aloha, Tigard, and unincorporated Clackamas and Washington Counties.
Boylston’s roots in Oregon run deep. Mother was a public school teacher and he himself thrived in the
Beaverton public school system, graduating from Sunset High School. Boylston wants everyone to be part of a
State that inspires the best in all of us. “There is so much potential here in Oregon, but we have to properly prepare our children for high paying jobs at Oregon companies, which are currently being filled from out of state,” said Boylston. “That is going to mean changing what is not working. Among many other things, that means restoring robust vocational training options and modernizing high school teaching methods.”
Representative John Davis endorsed Boylston immediately. “John is a friend and someone we can trust to put the public interest first – he’s the right fit for House District 26 and will represent all residents. He brings energy, experience, and a thoughtful approach. He cares deeply about Oregon, our education system and creating jobs. He will look at old issues in new ways.”
Sherwood small business owner Mark Bigej said that he is excited by Boylston’s candidacy. “John is most definitely today’s voice for our tomorrow. The perception that Oregon has distaste for the free market must be changed. It is killing innovation, freezing exports and stifling small Oregon companies.”
Boylston is an estate planning attorney, passionate about making sure families of all means plan well for the future. He sits on the Board of Trustees of the Oregon Historical Society and on the Board of HispanicPros, an organization that helps connect Hispanic professionals, plugging them into the Oregon business community. John is a founder and an active member of Emerging Leaders of Oregon. An avid Timbers fan, he plays on a co-ed indoor soccer team and is the pitcher for a co-ed softball team.
John and his wife, Ana Lauren live in King City. Ana Lauren is in her final year of training in clinical psychology at Pacific University, wrapping up her doctorate by interning at Portland State University.
