I Feel Like I’m Fixin’ To Pay Rag*

Well, come on Portland pick up a pen,
PPS needs your help again.
They’ve got themselves in a terrible jam
Spending your money just as fast as they can
So sell off your stock and write out a check
We’re gonna hear a whole lot a dreck!
And it’s one, two, three,
What are we paying for?
Don’t ask them, they don’t give a damn,
And neither does Mayor Sam!
And it’s five, six, seven,
Give up on your saving plans!
Well there ain’t no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! We’re all buying a lie!
Come on Portland, don’t be slow,
Why man, this is cash au-go-go!
There’s plenty good money we can waste
By supplying the District with money in haste,
But just hope and pray that if they run outta dough
The feds will give them more they can blow!

What are we voting for?
Don’t ask me, I don’t have a clue,
I’m a renter but it sucks to be you!
And it’s five, six, seven,
Where is the limit here?
Well there ain’t no chance to have a say,
Whoopee! you’re all going to pay!
Well, come on teachers, let’s move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Go out and put “it’s for the kids” in a phrase
‘Cause the only good paycheck is one with a raise
And you know that a raise can only be won
When we’ve taxed ’em all to kingdom come!
