Encourage governor to sign CHL privacy bill

by Kevin Starrett

Recently the Oregon Legislature passed HB 4045, a bill that would provide important protections for the privacy of CHL holder’s personal information.  As of yesterday, the governor had not signed the bill into law yet.

We are now at a crossroads. It is very important that we make our voices heard one more time and contact the governor with the short and simple message: “Please sign HB 4045.”

The Oregon Sheriffs have made it clear that this legislation is very important to them and their constituents.

You can encourage the governor to sign using his webmail page: http://www.governor.oregon.gov/Gov/contact.shtml

You don’t have to send a long message. Just the simple “Please sign HB 4045” will do it.

Gun rights activists, crime victims and others have all been working for years to protect the privacy of people with concealed handgun licenses.  License holders deserve far more than the limited protections this bill provides, but they certainly deserve at least this.

Please contact the governor today.
