Did BO ever pretend to be a private sector guy? Other than the recent idiocy of thinking the big problem out there is small business not being able to get loans I’m not sure I hear him talk about the private sector as a solution all that much.

Government is the solution to every problem, thus why waste time with anyone in the cabinet in the private sector?

Frankly I think it is absolutely idiotic to look at this graph as if it were a revelation. Are we supposed to think “oh my God, he has no one who knows anything about private industry talking to him” and be astounded?

I mean seriously, is there a soul on the planet who needs it pointed out to them that BO trying to define what a payroll is would have more “Ahhhs” than a feature length porn film?

Being amazed that BO has no one who knows anything but government in his cabinet is like being stunned that Reagan didn’t have a lot of NARAL members in his cabinet. This joker sat in a church for twenty years listening to America is evil and white people are the devil before figuring out his minister was a racist. With that kind of mental wizardry do you think his economic theories or the people he surrounds him with are going to be any less backward?

What part of big spender huge government “lets spread the wealth around” guy didn’t you get during the campaign?

How gullible are conservatives to accept a chart from Glenn Beck, sourced to no one in particular as fact?

Lets see. How many are in the President’s Cabinet? 22. How many would it take with “private sector experience to beat the line in the chart? Two. If 2 cabinet members have any private sector experience, then that means the chart above is total BS. Lets take a sample.

Hillary Clinton…yes THAT Hillary, worked for years as a private sector lawyer for the Rose firm. OK, we are now halfway there.

Tim Geithner…3 years with Kissinger Associates (private). Council on Foreign relations (private). New York Federal Reserve (quasi private). 2 down.

Robert Gates. Served on multiple corporate boards before joining the Bush Administration. That makes 3, and we have not passed the chart bar.

Ken Salazar…private sector attorney for at least 8 years. We doubled the chart.

Thomas Vilsack…23 years as a private attorney.

Steven Chu…won Nobel prize for work done while at Bell Labs. Is that private sector? Yep.

Eric Shinseki…served on multiple corporate boars after retiring from a career in the army.

Janet Napolitano….9 years as privte attorney.

Rahm I. Emanuel, 4 years as investment banker where he made millions.

Peter R. Orszag…had his own consulting firm during the Bush years.

Susan Rice…consultant with McKinsey and Company

Altogether? Over 70% of Obama’s cabinet appointments have private sector experience.

    Do your homework folks.

I take the point about Steve Chu having worked for Bell Labs. He also worked at Stanford University. Isn’t that still a private university? Does “private” only mean for-profit?

Most of the rest sound like quasi-governmental work to me. I mean, Kissinger Associates, whatever its merits, is not what most people would think of.

Have the private sector guys always done so well? I’m thinking of guys like Cheney, Rumsfeld — true hybrids, it must be admitted.

  • Fact Checker

If you do some fact checking you will see that the above bar graph is actually not true. Obama’s actual REAL (not made up right wng batshit crazy #’s) are just about at the same level as Ford’s #’s.
