Lars Larson: Pennsylvania’s tax authorities are “creepy”

If you look up the word “creepy” in the dictionary I’m pretty sure you’re going to find that ad made by the state of Pennsylvania about tax amnesty.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with tax amnesty plans. I’d like to see everybody pay their share. If some people fall behind they could be persuaded to pay what they owe by having their penalty forgiven. The library used to do that for me as a kid. Now I’d like to see it done for some folks as adults.

But that’s not what Pennsylvania is doing. Pennsylvania has put together a television ad essentially saying, “We’re surveilling you from space. We know where your house is, where your car is and the name of your dog. If you don’t pay what you owe, we know where you live.”

I’ve had enough of “big brother” in this country under Barack Obama. We don’t need this kind of nonsense, even if it gets people to do the right thing and pay up there taxes.

Here is Mr. Creepy, describing creepy; which I find disturbing.

Sounds like something Tony Soprano would do.

Remember when the left was so crazed over our rights, shredding the constitution yadda yadda under Bush?

Boy people went ape over that.

Oh, and hey, remember when the left was all crazy about our rights, shredding the constitution yadda yadda when they passed the AZ immigration law?

    It cracks me up.

But it also is a great illustration.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking the left wants the government to run every aspect of your lives.

This is totally untrue. Witness the Bush and AZ reactions. The left has no interest in government being in charge of your life, it is they who want to be in charge of your life, with government as the tool. This is why they are apoplectic about the slightest whiff of infringement of rights when a Republican is in charge but can excuse almost any sort of storm trooper action under their own administrations.

This is exactly in line with the liberals seemingly strange interest in protecting our rights only some of the time. It can be fun, the liberal conniption fits over rights, but only when it is politically convenient, is one of life’s more ridiculous spectacles.

Sit back, sip a drink, light a cigar and enjoy.

Oh yeah, that’s right, cant smoke a cigar.

Hey, and there is another one, remember when we had that right?
