  • Founding Fathers

“I’m Michelle Bachmann, and I don’t know the difference between John Wayne and John Wayne Gacy.”

    • Ronglynn

“Hi, my name is Founding Fathers, and Barrack Obama is the greatest president since Warren G. Harding.”

    • Floundering Fathers

      Hi, I’m Barry Obama and I’m President of the United States………..all 57 of them….er, there’s only 50?

  • valley person

In the “how nutty of a person can we seriously consider for president contest,” she now leads by several points.  Its entertaining in a scary funhouse sort of way.

    • Ronglynn

Well, we elected Obama and he is a clown. He has been good entertainment as he plays the part of a leader.

    • THE TRUTH

Much like Barry Obama’s election was, now its just plain a failure.

  • just doing the math

    OMG! Sarah Palin’s sister.

    • Ronglynn

Better than Obama’s brother who lives in a hut in Kenya who keeps looking a check the mail from his loving brother.

  • HoboJoe

She has accomplished more than you three ever will.
    Just saying…

    • valley dude

Probably true, but then none of us are running for president, so the bar is higher for her.

      • THE TRUTH

You didn’t raise it very high for Obama, why does it have to be any higher for her?

    • Founding Fathers

Okay, HoboJoe, name her 3 top accomplishments.

      • wnd

Prithee, does Michele Bachmann not pitch’n like a Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi or Debbie Wasserman Shultz ‘clone’ count as one or three?

      • HoboJoe

Elected to state senate, elected to US House, helped raise 23 foster kids.
Now list yours and let’s take a comparo.

        • Founding Fathers

So, HoboJoe, “being elected” is an accomplishment.

Let’s see, Obama’s been elected to the State Senate (in a larger state than Michelle Bachmann), US Senate (from a larger state than Michelle Bachmann), and  elected US President. By your measure, then, you’d have to agree that his accomplishments dwarf those of all of us, and those of Michelle Bachmann.

What has Bachmann actually accomplished during her time in office?

And Bachmann’s claims about the foster kids has been inflated.

          • Ronglynn

Obama did not run so much as a lemon aid stand before he was elected. Wow, he was an ACORN attorney!

          • valley dude

And state senator and US senator and professor of constitutional law and author and editor of the Harvard law Review, among other things.

          • Ronglynn

Yes, I stand corrected. He was a state senator and voted present most of the time if I remember correctly. He was not a professor of constitutional law. He was a lecturer and gave himself a resume enhancement. Yes, he was editor of the Harvard Law Review and how many articles did he write? What exactly did he do as editor? As for Senator from Illinois, all he had to do was put his name up there with the help of Bill Ayers who he hardly knew. He came out of the historical crooked Chicago Democrat machine. He also had a little help from Reverend Wright who he later found out was a hateful racist. “That wasn’t the Reverend Wright I knew” even though he warmed a pew for 20 years. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Michele Bachmann is starting to look better every day. In fact, most of the Republican candidates are starting to look better than BO. It is 1980 all over again and the democrat candidate is going down in flames like Jimmy Carter.

          • just doing the math

Still can’t beat Bush junior and the 2 wars he got us into; the loss of life and
the huge financial toll. I look at Bachmann, and I have to ask myself, do I
want more of the same? Nah, your righteous tirade does not have me
            convinced. I am voting O.

          • Ronglynn

Gee, I thought this was about Michele Bachman running for President Obama’s position. Yes, Bush messed up on handling the two wars. Your man was supposed to get us out. We are still waiting. He promised to close Gitmo and take all the enemy combatants to NYC to be tried in Civilian Court. Gitmo is still open and the prisoners still there. By the way, some of the prisoners would rather stay there than go back to whatever rathole they came from. I am voting for anyone other than Obama. He gave his shuck and jive about Hope and Change. Bush started us downhill and now Obama has the accelerator pedal to metal heading us towards the ash heap of history.  Who even knows if the country can be saved now after what he has done. It is time to Hope he is defeated so we can have a Change of Leadership.

          • just doing the math

I am convinced, you cannot read. My comment was
about Bachmann using Bush as a reference to the
question, do you want more of the same? And
Obama is getting us out of the wars that Bush
            got us into.

          • valley dude

“Yes, I stand corrected. He was a state senator and voted present most of the time if I remember correctly.”

You apparently want to make a  habit out of being corrected. 3% of his total votes were marked “present.” That makes you off by oh…only 48%.

“He was a lecturer and gave himself a resume enhancement. ”

According to the University of Chicago, and this is real easy for you to look up on line, his title was Senior Lecturer and the University considers that equal to being a professor. That makes you zero for 2 this round.

“What exactly did he do as editor?”

Supervised a staff of 80 editors and basically ran the publication. According to reports written back at the time, it was a 50-60 hour a week job.

“He came out of the historical crooked Chicago Democrat machine.”

Hardly. The famous Chicago machine had petered out by the time Obama got into politics. And Hyde Park, his base of operations, was never part of machine politics in the first place. Mayor Daily didn’t even back Obama in his first race for Congress. Zero for 3?

“I could go on and on, but I won’t.”

Yes, I’m sure you could. You could go on and on and keep being wrong and not care a bit about it. Its impressive in a way.

“It is 1980 all over again and the democrat candidate is going down in flames like Jimmy Carter. ”

Maybe so. And maybe it is 1984 all over again and the incumbent wins in a landslide. Or more likely it is neither and we will have another close race reflecting a deeply divided nation going through troubled times. We will all just have to wait and see.

          • Ronglynn

Thanks for the correction on the voting record. However, you are still wrong on Obama being a professor. He was a part time lecturer. Check it out. Score 1-1.

As for being an editor, he was hardly ever there. The other people ran the show. Check that out.

Are you kidding me about the Crooked Democrat Machine petering out? Do you honestly believe that?It may have slowed down at some point, but it is still chugging. Ever hear of Governor Ryan or Governor Blago?or the rest of politicians who have ended up in jail.  I have a friend from Chicago who had ring side seat to all of the political corruption. Chicago Democrat politics are a huge joke all over America. That’s one town where the Republicans can’t be blamed for the corruption.

Mr. Valley Person: I see that you are always commenting. I occassionally come on for laughs and know that part of the time that I am full of baloney. You on the other hand see to be never wrong about anything you say. Do you ever admit being wrong or do you have too much pride?

I think it will be a huge thumping with some out of work Democrats voting for the Republican candidate. Even some of the Black voters will dump his ass. President Obama has presided over this country going down the toilet. Yes, President Bush helped make it a mess, but President Obama has only made things worse. That will be thing that voters remember.

          • valley dude

Again, and for the last time, the University of Chicago has spoken on this. Here is the exact statement they issued back when this came up:

“The Law School has received many media requests about Barack Obama, especially about his status as “Senior Lecturer.” From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama
served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to
1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he
taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be
members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors,
although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is
distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status.
Like Obama, each of the Law School’s Senior Lecturers has high-demand
careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching.
Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School,
Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track
            position, but he declined.”

            https://www.law.uchicago.edu/media

So read that and remember it ok? You are wrong. End of story.

The crooked democratic machine was in the dustbin of history by the time Obama got elected to anything. I’m from Chicago and am very familiar with the story. Mayor Harold Washington basically broke up the old Daley machine and while there are still remnants of it, it is not what it used to be. Its like saying New York is still run by Tamany Hall.

Various politicians get busted for corruption. You can’t attribute every one to long dead Richard Daley and his minions. Ryan was a Republican for Gods sake, busted for corruption at the State level. How did he have anything to do with Chicago democrats?

Do I ever admit being wrong? Sure. When I am wrong on facts, and someone can show me a counter fact and I can’t counter that, then I am wrong and can admit to it. What can’t be wrong is a mere opinion, yours or mine. An opinion based on a wrong fact may be misguided, but can’t be wrong. You expressed an opinion here based on wrong facts. Show me where I got a fact wrong and I’ll own up to it.

You can think anything you want about the next election. Its an opinion and you can’t be wrong about that. My opinion is we will have to wait and see. But also that this is an uphill election for Republicans for the reasons I have stated.

As another  point of fact, Obama has not “made things worse.” The economy was losing 500,000 jobs a month when he took office. GDP was sinking, not rising. Stocks had fallen to their lowest level in decades, far below what they were when Bush first took office. The banking industry was imploding. The banks are now doing fine, and the stock market is about back to where it was before it crashed. We are gaining jobs. The economy is growing. You can argue he is not making things better fast enough. But if you argue he has made things worse, you don’t have the facts on your side.

    • just doing the math

“While Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., has forcefully denounced the Medicaid program for swelling the “welfare rolls,” the mental health clinic run by her husband has been collecting annual Medicaid payments totaling over $137,000 for the treatment of patients since 2005, according to new figures obtained by NBC News.”

Well, that is an accomplishment, making money off the poor.

      • Ronglynn

You are right! She and her husband are evil and they should go to Hell on a roller coaster.

        • just doing the math

Always a reactionary statement from you. What does my comment have to
do with Bachmann and her husband being evil? The NBC News figures merely suggests they have made money off the poor thru Medicaid while denouncing the program. Hypocritical, yes.

          • Ronglynn

You believe NBC news? It suggests? Don’t you know a hit piece when you see one?

  • Joelinpdx

As TV ads go, sad to say, that one just sucks. She needs to hire the folks who are writing for American Crossroads and get some good stuff going. As a member of the House she is a long shot for openers. She’s going to need something a lot more potent than that piecer tp get the job done.

    • Ronglynn

Her best campaign Ad is Barrack “Hope and Change” Obama. “HI, my name is Barrack Obama and I ran up the biggest debt in History. I approved this message with your money.”

      • Founding Fathers

How about “I’m Barack Obama, and my deficit was smaller than Ronald Reagan’s.”?

Then there’s “Wronglynn”, who can’t even figure out how to correctly spell the name of his President.
