    Wow! I’m impressed 😉

You can’t win just with negative ads alone. You can’t.

Gordon Smith is lucky these two guys are the best the Democrats could do. Smith may be one of the most vulnerable senators in the country, but all these two guys have going for them is the fact that they are registered Democrats, which all but guarantees them 70 percent of the Multnomah County vote.

Senator Smith had better beware though. There are a lot of conservatives who may skip voting on his race over things like his sponsorship of hate crimes legislation. I have heard a lot of people say that’s what they are going to do.

Smith’s real vulnerability lies mostly in the fact that he has turned off his base. He will beat either one of the Democrat candidates, if his base is not alienated by election day.

I think these ads are very smart, since neither of these two Democrats can produce anything to counter them during a primary race. This guy Novick, will turn anyone that lives outside of the Portland area off in two seconds. And Merkley is such a lame candidate, I wonder why he is even running.
I predict Gordon Smith will clean house again in November by a healthy margin. This race won’t even be close.

Just saw the entire commercial at home tonight. My wife had the best reaction – “It seems wrong for the incumbent to be saying he’s the one for ‘change.'”

Good for Smith. Even though I’m not a huge fan of his, Merkley and Novick in office would be an absolute disaster.
