Is Wyden a contender to anyone else?

There is a lot of talk (here, here, and here) about the potential of US Senator Ron Wyden becoming the next Secretary of Health and Human Services within the Obama Administration. People are even speculating about potential replacements.

But is anyone outside Oregon talking about Wyden?

On Sunday the Associated Press published a story spuggesting that Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is the top candidate. It also identified Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen as a contender. Nowhere in the story did they mention Wyden.

It makes a lot of sense that Sebelius would be a top candidate. She was an early supporter of the new President and campaigned extensively for him last fall.

And also keep in mind that Josh Kardon, Wyden’s Chief of Staff was Hillary Clinton’s Oregon campaign chair. Wyden was fairly invisible in the race until the race was prett much

What’s your prediction? Who is the next Secretary of Health and Human Services?
