The number of Oregon Tax Day Tea Parties has climbed to 19, according to the Oregon Tea Party website. Thus, on April 15, more Oregonians have the opportunity to join with thousands and thousands of people who will assemble in hundreds of cities throughout the country. The purpose: To oppose bailouts, budget-busting debt, unsustainable spending and other fiscal nonsense coming from Salem and Washington, D.C. Thomas Jefferson once remarked, “It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.” That the infamous debt clock in New York stopped running in September 2008 because it ran out of digits is indicative of what future generations face. Alert your countrymen and women to the events in their state — and take part in showing all politicians that our children and their children’s children are not government’s indentured servants.
