ODOT getting revenge on Pro-taxpayer Rep. Thatcher?

“Thatcher, a Republican from Keizer, and one of the Legislature’s most outspoken conservatives, says she’s the victim of a vendetta by an agency that doesn’t like her politics. The agency rejects the charge but won’t provide details or an explanation of why it is withholding payments.Thatcher has sued the state for about $750,000 over a disputed 2005 freeway reconstruction job, and the case is expected to go to trial within weeks. At the same time, she is in the middle of another battle with ODOT over wages her firm paid to a temporary employee last year — a conflict that has held up at least $200,000 in payments to Thatcher’s construction company and other contractors involved in several highway repaving projects.” Continue reading
