State Government spent $48.386 billion in the 07-09 budget cycle.

Governor Kulongoski’s budget calls for $54 billion in spending in the next budget cycle. Democrats now say they have to make $4 billion in cuts from the Governor’s budget, meaning they will spend $50 billion this cycle. That is still more than a $1.5 billion spending increase.
