Latest: Adams recall re-start helped by Columbia Sportswear CEO

The Portland Tribune reported this morning, “Columbia Sportswear President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Boyle is involved in the new campaign to recall Mayor Sam Adams…Boyle says he recently attended a planning meeting for the campaign. He declined to say who else was there or when the effort would be formally launched. The sportswear executive says he will contribute money to the campaign, although he would not say how much.”I will be giving money to it, and it will not be the largest contribution,” Boyle says. Boyle declined to criticize Adams personally or question his effectiveness as mayor. Instead, Boyle says he believes Portland voters should have an opportunity to decide on whether Adams stays in office.”

With ample funds can the recall work? Should it work? What has inspired a CEO to step up as such? Please comment.
