This use of false data is standard operating procedure in every arena.

Emboldened politicians and their bureaucrat allies have long learned to use their positions to manipulate information and the process for the desired outcomes.
To advance an agenda, to influence policy making, to protect and/or benefit an institution or persons and maintain position, stature and control.

From the Portland Mayor’s office to Metro to every county and state agency to academia and every federal institution it the same story.

Activism and conflicts of interest run amok without any accountability or consequences.
Instead there’s rewards to be had.
Here in Oregon we need Governor Alley to get a thorough exposure of the scoundrels and the shenanigans.

Well said. I remember a few years back ODOT used failing bridge reports from OSU to justify an increase in registration fees and a bridge replacement/repair program. Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of repairs. Less than six months later they had to admit they overstated the problem by 1/3rd. Did they give back the ill gotten revenue? Of course not. And people wonder why we don’t trust government.
