Simply take a look at the amount of money the US government (that’s us – our money) has put into GM without even a prayer of repayment. Divide that into how many cars they sell each year and project that out for a decade. This is the figure you get.
So, with the government’s rebate (again, your money) the amazing Volt, which cannot go from Seattle to Medford non-stop, will only cost us $857,500 a piece.
