Oregon Democrats set to move euthanasia bill

By Oregon Right to Life

HB 2217 has been scheduled for a public hearing on Tuesday, March 19 at 3 pm in room HR E. Please make time to come if you are able.

Oregon’s deadly physician-assisted suicide law already contains a frightening loophole in which someone else could get away with administering the drugs to a helpless victim. HB 2217 expands this loophole by changing “taken” to “self-administer.” This is broadly defined to allow the drugs to be administered through an IV, feeding tube, injection or even through a gas mask.

HB 2217 would push Oregon closer to legalized euthanasia. It must be stopped.

Last week, we had a big win and helped change some language to transform an anti-life bill. The war isn’t over yet, but as we advocate together, we ARE winning some very big battles.

Whether you can or cannot attend the hearing on Tuesday, please contact your state representative now.
