HB 2016: Taxpayer bailout of union politics

HB 2016 is a Taxpayer bailout of union political dues.

Ever since the U.S. Supreme Court Janus decision (which gave government employees the right of choice on union political dues) public employee unions have been losing nearly a quarter of their members.

House Bill 2016 aims to make taxpayers fund some of those missing political funds.

House Bill 2016 gives unlimited paid time off for unions to engage in union business. The state has offered no estimate on how much this could cost taxpayers.

House Bill 2016 adds more red tape and restrictions to people exercising their right to leave a union while at the same time making it easier to join a union.

House Bill 2016 removes First Amendment free speech rights by censoring and outlawing public employers from communication with its own employees over the union.

The bill goes to the House floor for a vote.
