Session ends with record breaking $29B budget

Oregon lawmakers approved a record breaking $29.4 two-year budget budget.  The years started off with Governor Brown’s $25.6 billion blueprint budget and ended with a $3.5 billion surplus — infused with billions from Congress.  Never in modern history has so much tax money come into Oregon State collections.

Special last minute projects:*
– $300 million for mental health
– $275 million for water infrastructure
– $600 million relief for wildfire victims
– $410 million to build 3,000 affordable housing units
– $100 million to cover new costs for undocumented Medicaid
– $240 million in special per-district expenses
