Rep. Hanna alerts to save state troopers plan

Alert portion from Rep. Bruce Hanna press release 5-25-07:

HB 3535 = 24/7

The first job of government is public safety. The current budget fails to provide even minimal 24/7 coverage of Oregon’s highways.

HB 3535 is scheduled for a public hearing in the Ways and Means Public Safety Subcommittee this Tuesday, May 29th.

This is the last chance to pass HB 3535, which will dedicate 1 percent of General Fund Revenues to the OSP Patrol Division (Troopers). This means 24/7 coverage of Oregon’s highways…

    Quite frankly, I am not worried that anarchy will break out at 3:00 a.m. some morning in rural Oregon. We have lived for years without 24/7 highway patrol coverage and survived!

    I’m with Crawdude on this one: pass.
