Sales tax, anti-petition votes continue anti-voter wave

This week the Senate and House voted to approve HB 2082 which makes it twice as hard to qualify a petition for the ballot – despite broad opposition form both conservative and liberal organizations

Yesterday the Oregon Senate passed HB 2530 that creates a task force to study “tax reform”, otherwise known as a SALES TAX. The people have said no nine times to a sales tax — yet it is being thrown in the face of the public again in the form of a task force.

The voters approved landowner compensation twice — but the Legislature has referred out a measure to gut Measure 37. The voters have three times affirmed the Double Majority law and it too has been re-sent back to voters (HJR 15) in hopes of weakening it.

The will of the voters is being steamrolled by the Legislature.
