$450 million for Gov’t raises

The mega-spending bill, Senate Bill 5506-1 includes $450 million for State Employee raises and funds for employee recruitment and retention.

Oregon State government is having a hiring problem after the same State outlawed hiring bonuses and continued to pay people not working more than for working in jobless benefits that other states eliminated.

About one of every five state employees earn a total pay exceeding $100,000 — a 27% increase from 2021.
