5 GOP Senators sue Sec.-State & Measure 113 rules

Five Senate Republicans, Senate Republican Minority Leader Tim Knopp, Sen. Daniel Bonham,Sen. Lynn Findley, Sen. Dennis Linthicum and Sen. Suzanne Weber, filed a lawsuit on Friday against Oregon Secretary of State. The issue is over Measure 113 for which the Secretary of State says the five senators are unable to run for reelection next year, stating that their Capitol walk-out protests were counted as more than 10 unexcused absences and therefore does not allow lawmakers to return to office. The Senate Republicans say the text of law allows them to serve one term before the ban goes into effect.
