Monique DeSpain for Congress
Press Release,

Today, Fourth Congressional District Candidate Monique DeSpain denounced Congresswoman Val Hoyle for her refusal to condemn rising antisemitism as demonstrated by her recent vote on H.Res.894 – Strongly condemning and denouncing the drastic rise of antisemitism in the United States and around the world and to return the $15,000 in donations she has received from the PAC controlled by virulent anti-Israel Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal.

“Last week, Val Hoyle refused to condemn the deeply troubling rise in antisemitism with her vote on H.Res. 894. Then we learned she’s been receiving donations from an anti-Israel PAC all along,” said Monique DeSpain. “What a terrible message to send to the American people as a Member of Congress. The Jewish community is facing threats of violence, intimidation, and calls for their extermination weeks after Hamas terrorists brutally raped and slaughtered 1200 Israelis and triggered an armed conflict in Gaza. Voting for this resolution was a total no-brainer, but Val had to pander to the most radical elements in her caucus. Apparently, her anti-Israel donor got their money’s worth.”

“Ninety-five Democrat caucus members joined in bipartisan solidarity to vote in favor of condemning rising antisemitism, but Val Hoyle wasn’t one of them. We already knew that Congresswoman Hoyle has shown herself to be ethically challenged with her pay-to-play La Mota scheme and the text messages she’s hiding, but now she seems to have added ‘morally challenged’ with her radical silence on antisemitism fueled by the anti-Israel cash she’s been piling up,” DeSpain added. “I’m calling on Val Hoyle to return those donations to Pramila Jayapal’s PAC and clearly condemn antisemitism to which Val has so far turned a blind eye.

“Deploy me to Washington, D.C., and let’s end Val’s morally corrupt, pay-to-play antics. We cannot continue to send the same corrupt career politicians to Washington and expect different results. I am an outsider who will stand up for what is right and seek consensus to achieve commonsense policies that make our communities safer and more prosperous.”

Monique DeSpain is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, mother of twin boys, and public policy advocate who resides in Eugene, Oregon. She is a candidate for the Republican nomination for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District in a bid to unseat incumbent Congresswoman Val Hoyle in 2024 and bring about a safer, more prosperous Oregon.
