Not only are we seeing elected officials deciding not to run again, we will have more trouble finding replacements because of the so-called ethics reform passed during the 2007 legislative session.

We should be finding ways to make it easier for people to serve in public office. Under current conditions, it is hard to find good people to serve.

We need more retirements, promotions and legislators moving on. No replacement could do a worse job than is already being done in my opinion.

Merkley is running against Smith so he’s moving on too.

Run, CRAWDUDE, Run! After all, it’s easy to run and win! When are you announcing?

Its possible that this could be a new oppurtunity for great leadership.
