Rep. Helfrich: Response to 1,500% overdose increase

HOUSE REPUBLICAN LEADER RESPONDS TO 1,500% INCREASE IN OVERDOSES: ‘MAJORITY MUST STOP STALLING’
By Oregon House Republican Leader Jeff Helfrich,

SALEM, Ore – In response to a report showing that Oregon’s overdose rate has grown over 1,500% since before the pandemic, the highest rate of increase in the nation, House Republican Leader Rep. Jeff Helfrich (R-Hood River) issued the following statement.

“A 1500% increase in overdoses is the direct result of Oregon enabling drug use with Measure 110. People will keep dying at nation-leading rates as long as this failed policy remains in place,” said Leader Helfrich. “The majority party must stop stalling and pass HB 4036 to put an end to this crisis.”
