Measure 118 tax ($2B) almost entirely funded from California

It was a California billionaire that funded the petition drive by nearly one million dollars to put the Measure 118 on the ballot this year.  Now that the measure has made the ballot, the only big donation to come in to support the campaign is a $100,000 donation from a liberal engineer from California who is running for Mayor of San Fransisco (read more from WWeek).

Measure 118 is a near-two billion dollar tax on Oregon businesses, and it is being driven by California.

California is making Oregon their lab rat for their big tax ideas.

While a few Californians are funding most of the pro-Measure 118 effort, there are hundreds of Oregon businesses that raised $9 million to stop measure 118 because it will bring economic disaster and high prices to our economy — as one would expect from a near $2 billion dollar tax.
