Lars Larson: WA’s carbon tax fight

Governor Jay Inslee knows what voters will do to his carbon tax: They’re gonna kill the Climate Commitment act.

Two years ago, Inslee promised the carbon tax would only add pennies to the cost of gas.

Instead, the tax made Washington’s gas prices the highest in America.

It stripped billions of dollars from the pockets of citizens and created a slush fund lawmakers can spend it on anything.

More than 400-thousand citizens signed petitions to put the carbon tax to a vote in initiative 2117.

I’m gonna vote “yes”.

This week, the “no on 2117” forces brought in a major celebrity to pimp their cause.

“Hanoi” Jane Fonda, the wealthy California actress came to the Evergreen state.

She got that moniker for befriending North Vietnam while it was busy killing American soldiers.

Last year, Fonda explained that white men are to blame for climate change and proposed that they be arrested and jailed.

Fonda enjoys a large carbon footprint herself: two homes with more than 15-thousand square feet of living space, nearly a thousand miles apart.

She compensates by driving an electric car.

Can you imagine a better reason to vote YES on 2117 than hypocrisy like that?
