Almost the entire Ballot Measure 118 campaign,, the $2 billion dollar tax on sales, is being funded by three different Californian wealthy individuals.

You have Josh Jones, cryptocurrency trader, Gisele Huff heir to a software engineer in San Fransisco (donated $100,000) and Dylan Hirsch-Shell, a former Tesla engineer and San Fransisco mayor candidate (donated $100,000).  Josh Jones, who donated one million dollars to Measure 118, said in Reddit, “I’ve got no skin in the game, I put some money in, it’s sort of an outside bet”.

Outside bet?

Outside bet by outsiders?

The largest tax in Oregon history by an outside bet?  By people with “no skin in the game”?

When you pass the largest tax in Oregon history, people will lose their jobs, they have all the skin in the game.

Jones says in his video, “I still think it will probably cause a little bit of inflation”

Measure 118 will cause price inflation, especially due to its triple taxation of a single product.  Measure 118 is expected to jack up grocery and gas prices, everyone will be hurt.   A one-time rebate does not fix a permanent increase in grocery prices.

Oregon already pays high grocery prices:

Our manufacturing is already hurting:

Here is how it likely make it much worse:
