Lars Larson: Liberals ready for consequences of their sanctuary stance?

Maybe Northwest liberals who hold public office need to recognize the sea change coming at them on the criminal illegal alien front before the storm hits full force on January 20th. Washington state declared itself a sanctuary for illegals years ago, and Oregon did the same decades ago.

President Donald Trump promises the biggest deportation of border jumpers in American history. Border Czar Tom Homan has warned public officials that aiding and abetting illegals is a federal crime, with arrests and prosecutions on the line.

Even in notoriously liberal New York City, Mayor Eric Adams has gotten the memo. Illegal aliens have cost the Big Apple billions of dollars. The Northwest is undoubtedly paying a similar price with rising crime, homelessness, thousands of illegals registered to vote, and strain on schools and social services.

A federal court recently shot down King County’s attempt to block federal ICE agents from using Boeing Field to deport illegal aliens. Every dollar spent on Joe Biden’s invited invasion is a dollar that won’t go toward meeting the needs of citizens.

One state representative in Washington has already introduced a bill to revoke sanctuary status, and Oregon should consider doing the same.
