Sen. Boquist: Capitol chatter, homeless havens, etc …

Oregon Capitol Insider.  1/2/2025.  “Capital Chatter: 2025 is off to a chatty start: To whet your political appetite for 2025, here is a spicy goulash of quotations, anecdotes and other recent observations from Oregonians who hang around the State Capitol … Gov. Tina Kotek, end-of-year video: “I have been mission-focused, whether through executive actions, budget choices or policy decisions, and we’re seeing concrete results.”  If Kotek’s statement is true then why is she the most hated Governor in history according to polls?  The other quotes from Jama, Drazen and others tell us the feckless Legislature is the ‘same old same old!’

Portland Tribune.  12/29/2024.  “Oregon ranks high as homelessness rises nationwide, federal report says …. The report also notes that Oregon frequently reports the highest rate of unsheltered families in the nation …. At 66%, Oregon is one of three states – including Hawaii and California – where more than two-thirds of the homeless are unsheltered …”  Interesting the blue map of highest homeless states is the blue political map on page 18 of the report.  OR WA CA on the left cost are at the top … all Democrat control for decades, and CA is 49% of all homeless per the report.  If you dig deeper in other states it leads to blue political cities.  Why is homelessness so great in Democrat cities and states?   In Oregon the feckless Legislature with the Democrat politicians fund nonprofits, unions and donors who siphon off the government money instead of building inexpensive housing.  Government ‘affordable’ housing construction costs are 40% higher than regular construction costs per legislative hearings due to ‘government’ regulations. 

Your Oregon News. 1/2/2025.  “New laws go into effect in Oregon to help curtail medicine costs, reduce drug use on transit:  Protections for consumers, schoolchildren and warehouse workers are among the new laws that started on Jan. 1.”  This is a decent summary of bills taking effect n Oregon though most will do little if anything to help the average Oregonian given passage is meaningless with out implementation.  The feckless Legislature is simply a propaganda pawn for the Executive Branch controlled by Democrat statewide elected’ s more interested in fighting Trump than helping citizens.
