According to The Oregonian, 2,200 Oregon legislative bills were submitted before the legislature’s first day, a record. However, the Oregonian warns that this could cause a major backlog of bills because many more are stuck in the pipeline.

Notice, we are seeing all kinds of tax increases:

– Income tax increase (HB 2713)
– Statewide property tax  (HJR 6, HJR 8)
– Kicker Raid (SJR 15)
– Hotel tax increase (HB 2977)
– Beer tax increase (Hb 3197)
– Remove voter approval for local gas tax increases (SB 687)
– 35-cent gas tax increase (no bill # yet, but ODOT has laid groundwork)

Things may get wild.
